Maxi Taxi driver hijacked in Maungani

A Maxi Taxi driver was hijacked at gunpoint at Maungani village, Limpopo on Sunday at around 18:30. According to the information, the complainant, who is a maxi taxi driver, was at the local mall when a male client requested transport to Maungani village.

On arrival at the village, the male passenger produced a firearm and pointed it at the driver. The driver jumped out of the moving vehicle. The suspect drove away with the vehicle which is a grey Toyota Corolla with registration number HFJ141L.

Police, Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) are investigating a carjacking case. Police were notified and opened a case of car hijacking. The docket was transferred to Thohoyandou VCIU for further investigations.
