Limpopo-born youngster signs with DStv Premiership club

It’s a dream come true for Lefa Aphane from Dennilton, Limpopo who was confirmed as the latest signing by DStv Premiership club Cape Town City. Aphane impressed during a trial recently at the club.
The 22-year-old was first spotted while playing for Limpopo SAFA ABC Motsepe League side Tzaneen United.

Nicknamed ‘Toy’, Aphane is described as talented, dedicated, and a hard worker. City beat clubs such as Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United who were reportedly interested in the player.
“Lefa [Aphane] is a young, promising player and I think he has a great future ahead of him,” said City coach Eric Tinkler.
“Finding him the way we did was a miracle and with hard work from his side, he’ll become an exceptional footballer.”

Meanwhile, Tzaneen United also bid farewell to the player whom they wished well in his career.
“As he prepares to don the colours of Cape Town City, Tzaneen United acknowledges his role in shaping the club’s success and wishes him the best in his future endeavours,” the club said in a statement through club chairman Dennis Mafologela.
“His journey serves as inspiration for aspiring footballers in the region. Demonstrating that talent and perseverance can open doors to greater opportunities.
“The departure of a player of his calibre is undoubtedly a loss for Tzaneen United. But it also signifies the club’s ability to nurture talent and propel players to higher levels of competition,” he said.
“As he transitions to a new environment, Tzaneen United remains proud of his roots. The impact he has made on the local football scene.”
Meanwhile, Cape Town City have also announced the signing of Elson Ayanda Sithole from Magesi FC.
