Three boys suffocate to death at Ga-Mothiba

Three boys aged between 14 and 22 were found dead in their bedroom on Friday morning at Morongoa Park in Ga-Mothiba, Limpopo after they went to sleep with a braai stand with fire coals in their room. 

Reports indicated that the Police were summoned to the scene, and upon arrival, they found three lifeless bodies of boys.

Preliminary investigations established that three boys who shared a bedroom went to sleep on Thursday, 04 July at around 21:00. They took along a braai stand with fire coals to their room. 

The following day, on Friday at around 05:00, their family realized that the boys were motionless. They immediately activated the Police and EMS personnel. The boys were certified dead at the scene.

YOUNG BOYS FOUND DEAD IN THEIR BEDROOM AFTER SLEEPING WITH A BRAAI STAND 

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has warned the community against putting braziers in the household, rooms, or sleeping spaces during this chilling winter season.

She further pointed out that the inhaling of the brazier and other related fires has proven to be a dangerous practice and has the potential to cause harm or death. Police opened an inquest docket for further investigations.
