Social Workers dispatched to Shiluvane Family

MEC for Social Development in Limpopo Florence Radzilani has dispatched a team of social workers to the Shiluvane family who lost four children due to the blaze that gutted their house in Calais. The Shiluvane family lost four children in a blaze of fire.
According to reports, the children died in a fire that gutted their one-roomed house. Their mother had left them to make preparations for her eldest son, who was to graduate from an initiation school, this weekend.

Neighbours were alerted to the inferno, as they saw smoke coming from the house. Upon arrival, they found all children dead.

Radzilani has since taken immediate action to provide support and assistance.
“Social workers will this morning be mobilized to visit the family. To conduct a thorough assessment that will determine the kind of help and resources they will require during this difficult time,” said Radzilani.
“Our hearts go out to the family as they navigate this profound tragedy. We are fully committed to providing the necessary support to help them cope and recover.
The MEC added that the welfare and well-being of the affected family are top priority. “We will ensure that they receive the care and assistance they need. As they grieve and begin to rebuild their lives.”
