The court battle over the Vhavenda kingship resumed in the Polokwane High Court Limpopo on Monday. Princess Masindi Mphephu is fighting to succeed her late father, Dimbanyika Mphephu who died in a car crash in 1997.
The throne became vacant after Masindi Mphephu successfully challenged her uncle, Toni Mphephu-Ramabulana, in the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court ruling of November 2021 ordered the royal family to appoint another heir.

“Yes, over the course of the years or in this case I have grown,” she told the court.
