Greater Letaba Mayor assesses damage after Modjadjiskloof fire

The Mayor of Greater Letaba Municipality, Dagma Mamanyoha did an assessment of the fire that rampaged the veld around Modjadjiskloof. The fires affected areas around Timber Sawmill, Pfunanani Academy, Kings Court College and other households.

Luckily there were no casualties. No houses were burnt or the lives of humans and animals were lost. The Mayor thanked the stakeholders who assisted in controlling the fires so that they don’t affect human lives.

MAYOR DAGMA MAMANYOHA PLEASED AFTER THE ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECT OF THE MODJADJISKLOOF FIRE

The stakeholders included the Letaba Fire Protection Association, ZZ2, Merensky, Dave Potter of Modjadjiskloof Rate payer’s Association, Mopani Disaster Unit and the Greater Letaba Municipality. 

The stakeholders appreciated the initiative by the Mayor to engage and come up with plans for the prevention of fires around the Letaba area.  The team started with a quick brief at the Modjadjiskloof municipal offices. They then did a walkabout in some of the affected areas.
