Jacob Zuma to appear before ANC disciplinary hearing

Former ANC president Jacob Zuma is set to appear before a disciplinary hearing by the party on Wednesday. The 82-year-old was charged with bringing the party into disrepute.

This is after Zuma formed and campaigned for a different political party while still an ANC member. Zuma has been charged with violating rule 25 of the party’s constitution.

WHAT TIME IS THE ANC DISCIPLINARY HEARING AGAINST ITS FORMER PRESIDENT JACOB ZUMA?

The hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, 17 July at 10am. Initially, the ANC wanted to have the disciplinary hearing before the elections. It was scheduled for Luthuli House in Johannesburg.

However, they were forced to cancel the hearing due to fears there might be a confrontation between ANC and MK Party supporters.

The MK Party was launched in December last year in Soweto. It is now the third largest party nationally following the election results. They have 58 seats in the National Assembly and 37 seats in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial legislature with 45.35%.
