Limpopo teacher arrested for dealing in drugs

A 33-year-old teacher was nabbed distributing and selling drugs in Polokwane Central Business District (CBD), Limpopo on Tuesday. The educator was also caught with an unlicensed firearm with ammunition while police were busy conducting patrol duties at around 13:00.
Police received information about a silver VW Polo motor vehicle suspected to be selling drugs.

They immediately rushed to the area and commenced the search of the motor vehicle until it was positively located and tactically cornered at General Piet Joubert and Rissik Streets.
The motor vehicle with one occupant was searched and police discovered money. Drugs with an estimated street value of R20 000 together with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition concealed inside it.Â
He was immediately placed under arrest at the scene. His motor vehicle utilized in the commission of the crime was impounded afterwards.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised the SAPS members for their continued effort to combat drug-related crime in the province.
“Such educators who are on drugs cannot be entrusted with the education of our children. We call for the Department to take harsh measures and remove such from the system and its payroll,” said Hadebe.
The 33-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate court soon. He is facing a charge of dealing, and possession of drugs and an unlicensed firearm with ammunition.
