Four Limpopo children who died in a blaze laid to rest

The funeral service of the three Limpopo siblings and their cousin who died in a fire blaze that gutted their one-roomed house took place at Calais Stadium in Maruleng Municipality.
Johanath Shiluvane [13], Mapula Shiluvane [15], Charity Shiluvane [7] and Vinolia Shiluvane [3] tragically lost their lives when their house was gutted by fire on Friday, 12 July 2024.
This is after their mother had left them to make preparations for her eldest son, who was to graduate from an initiation school.

Some of the learners who attended were the MEC for Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo Violet Mathye. Kgoši Maatshengwane Shane Sekororo accompanied by Banareng Sekororo Traditional Council and also Maruleng Mayor Tsheko Musolwa.
Learners and educators from the Thapola-A-Nkona Primary, where these siblings were studying were also in attendance.

The community and learners of Thapola-A-Nkona Primary School have expressed messages of condolences to the family. It was a painful moment and heartbreaking as colleagues, learners and community members send messages of condolences to the family.
Representatives of various organs of civil society also converged to the Calais Stadium, in Ward 13 of the Maruleng Municipality, to pay their last respects to these children. They were laid to rest in Calais Cemetery.
