Limpopo’s Dr Koketjo Tsebe part of Team SA at Paris Olympics

Award-winning Limpopo Psychologist Dr Koketjo Tsebe from Mokopane has been appointed as the Psychologist for Team SA at the Paris Olympics.
Tsebe is a University of Limpopo alumna. She was also a team psychologist for Banyana Banyana at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The 34-year-old is also a board member at Boxing South Africa. She has also served on the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sports board.

The Olympics will be held in the French capital from 26 July to 11 August. They will be followed by the Paralympics which will be held from 28 August to 8 September.

Team South Africa was given a rousing send-off on their way to the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics at a glittering banquet held at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg last week.
Financial incentives for Team SA medallists at the Paris 2024 Olympics have also been announced.
Athletes who win gold will be awarded R400 000, with the coach receiving R100 000. Silver medallists will earn R 200 000 and R 50 000. Bronze medal pay-outs will be R 75 000 and R 25 000 for the athlete and coach, respectively.
For relays and team sports (Hockey and Rugby): An amount of R100 000 per athlete and the coach for a gold medal; R75 000 per athlete and the coach for a silver medalR50 000 per athlete and the coach for a bronze medal.
Boats (2 people), in line with the May incentives announced: R200 000 per athlete and R100 000 for the coach for a gold medal R100 000 per athlete and R50 000 for the coach for a silver medal R40 000 per athlete and R20 000 for the coach for a bronze medal.
