Leopard spotted roaming around the streets of Hoedspruit

The residents of Hoedspruit, Limpopo have been warned after a Leopard was spotted roaming around town on Wednesday. Hoedspruit is situated in the Maruleng Municipality not far from the Kruger National Park. It is well-known as a wildlife haven.

‘Maruleng Municipality would like to warn residents about a Leopard that was spotted prowling and roaming around the streets,” the Municipality said. 

“Residents are warned to be vigilant around town. They are also urged to stay away from any wild animals that have escaped their enclosures.”

Mayor Tsheko Musolwa says Hoedspruit is well-known as a wildlife haven, Cohabiting between wildlife and humans has always been monitored and well-preserved by various facilities within the area.

Musolwa says the municipality is currently collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safe capture of the leopard.
