Sirino was released at the end of last season after showing signs of frustration. This is after the club had initially blocked his move to join Al Ahly in Egypt. Sam on the other hand spent the past two seasons at Moroka Swallows. He joined Pirates in 2019 but only played in 29 matches in all competitions.

“Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their squad in the attacking department with the acquisition of attacker, Gaston Sirino. The Uruguayan has penned a two-year contract with the Glamour Boys,” said Chiefs.
“We have decided to add some experience in our team by bringing in Sirino,” said the club’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.
“We know his quality and we believe he will help us this coming season and looking forward to him sharing his experience with our younger players,” added Motaung Jr.
“Gaston’s ability to unlock a tight defence with his guile and craft will add an extra dimension to the team’s creativity and his attributes fit with our idea of how we want to play,” he said.
“Kaizer Chiefs have added another player to their squad with defender Bongani Sam joining the team from Orlando Pirates,” the club announced.
“The Glamour Boys have secured the 26-year-old left-back/winger on a 3-year contract, with a 1-year option.”
“We are really excited to have Bongani Sam in our fold,” added Motaung Jr.
“Given his age, which is 26, he has amassed quite a bit of experience having played for several teams in the Premiership since he started his top-flight career seven years ago. We do wish him well and we know he will fit in as part of the Kaizer Chiefs Family.”
