Man caught with of stolen vehicle destined for Zimbabwe

A 44-year-old Man was arrested in Polokwane for possession of a stolen motor vehicle intended to be smuggled into Zimbabwe via the Beitbridge border post.
Police received information about a white Toyota Fortuner that was travelling from Gauteng province to Musina in the Vhembe District. Â
The police reacted swiftly and commenced the investigations to locate the motor vehicle. It was spotted driving along the N1 north public road next to the ZZ2 farm outside Polokwane.

The motor vehicle with one occupant was stopped and an investigation was conducted about its origin. Police discovered that the motor vehicle was reported stolen last month on 31 July 2024 at Wierdabrug in Pretoria, Gauteng province.Â
The 44-year-old male suspect was also immediately placed under arrest for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.Â
STOLEN VEHICLE INTENDED TO BE SMUGGLED TO ZIMBABWE INTERCEPTED IN POLOKWANE
Preliminary investigations revealed that the motor vehicle was intended to be smuggled into Zimbabwe via the Beitbridge border post. The suspect will appear before the Polokwane magistrate court soon. He is also facing a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Police investigations are continuing.Â
