Limpopo side Polokwane City says they are going to give a fight in their MTN8 quarter-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday. Rise and Shine finished eighth in the premiership last season and were fixtured against the number one side.
While Sundowns have had coaching changes recently, they remain favourites against the Limpopo side.

But coach Phuti Mohafe who has held the head coach position since last season insists they will not be a walkover against Sundowns.
“As an ambitious team, we are looking to make progress and break the record,” he said.
“So I think this tournament has been alluding to us and it’s one that we have been qualifying for. We just want to go one step forward, and that one step forward should be in the final.
“So we might be ambitious but we also need progress and we need improvement as a team. So we are looking for those three aspects for Polokwane City this season,” he added.

“That has been a headache for us because coach Manqoba [Mngqithi] plays a different way. Coach Steve [Komphela] plays a different way and coach [Romain [Folz] also plays in a different way to the way coach Rulani was playing.”
Mohafe was referring to the recent coaching changes at Sundowns where they replaced Rulani Mokwena. Mokwena has now joined Wydad Casablanca in Morocco.
“So the combination of the three with the different philosophy is going to create a lot of headache for us. But it doesn’t mean we are going there and conceding defeat. We are going to fight and the fighting spirit is okay. The players are ready to play in the match on Sunday.”
The match between Sundowns and Polokwane City will take place at 15:00 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
