Magobading village headman shot and killed

A local headman at Magobading village, Sekhukhune was shot and killed by unknown men while walking with his daughter on Wednesday.

The victim and his daughter were walking to work, and to school respectively. Suspects driving a maroon Toyota Camry without a registration number allegedly approached them. They fired several shots, fatally wounding the local headman and fled the scene.

He was taken to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  Mecklenburg police under Sekhukhune District have since launched a search for murder suspects.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the incident.

“I have tasked the team of investigators to hunt down this ruthless killer,” she said. “We are not going to rest until they are captured so that they must face the full might of the law,” added General Hadebe.
