Mia Le Roux was crowned Miss South Africa 2024 during the 66th edition at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday evening. Leroux is a marketing manager, model and part-time BCom marketing student who hails from Rosebank in Cape Town. She was born in Sasolburg, Free State and raised in Oudtshoorn.

The 28-year-old was diagnosed with profound hearing loss when she was a year old. She is no stranger to the world of beauty pageants.
She has won titles such as Miss Struisie, Miss Garden Route, and Ultimate Wildcat. Leroux has also made it to the Top 5 in Miss Deaf South Africa.

Mia Le Roux is the first Miss SA Winner who is deaf and has a cochlear implant. She will be the first contestant at the Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico with such a disability to take part in the competition. This is a compelling story that could make her win Miss Universe.
She emerged victorious after competing against nine other finalists: Layla Zoubair, Lebohang Khoza, Nompumelelo Maduna, Onalenna Constantin, Ontshiametse Tlhopane, Palesa Lombard, Taahira Katz, and models Kirsten Khan and Kebalepile Ramafoko.
