ANC retains ward 35 in Makhado Municipality

The ANC has retained Ward 35 of the Makhado Local Municipality, Limpopo following Wednesday’s By-Election results. Thivhakoni Liccy Mudzwiri is the incoming councillor after the ANC won with 83,14%. This is compared to the 82,92% during the 2021 Local Government Elections.

The voter turnout was 33,92% in the By-Election contest yesterday. The ward in Makhado was previously represented by the ANC. It became vacant as a result of the death of the ward councillor.
MAKHADO MUNICIPALITY BY-ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED AS ANC RETAIN THE WARD
Mudzwiri was against Mashudu Rechardt Mbawala [Independent Candidate] Ntakadzeni Faith Phathela [also an Independent Candidate] and Nthatheni Shadrack Matsa of the International Revelation Congress.
There was a total number of 5036 voters. Mbawala got 128 votes, Phathela 69 and Matsa received 90 votes.
