The Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure MEC Ernest Rachoene has announced the appointment of an Interim Accounting Authority for Roads Agency Limpopo [RAL].
The Agency has also been running without a board for the past two weeks. This follows the resignation of some of the three board members leaving the board not to form a quorum.

MEC Rachoene says the appointment of the interim accounting authority will help to stabilise the board and subsequently result in improved service delivery.
“We saw it befitting that we have an interim accounting authority for RAL,” he said.
“As the department, we wrote to the Treasury Department to seek the approval of the appointment of the interim accounting authority, in terms of the PFMA.
“This will allow a smooth running of the board. Our people are expecting improved service delivery in the space of roads infrastructure,” added MEC Rachoene.
“We really appreciate the fact that the Executive Management of RAL has guaranteed us that they will accord all the necessary support to the interim accounting authority,” he said.
The interim authority will be overseeing the running of RAL, while the Department is finalising the process of appointment of the new Board of Directors. The Department also issued an advert calling for the nominations of the board members of Roads Agency Limpopo.
