Nzhelele man hacks his son to death  

A 58-year-old man appeared before Dzanani Magistrate’s Court in Nzhelele on Monday for allegedly hacking his 33-year-old biological son to death. The incident occurred on Thursday, 15 August during a domestic violence-related dispute at Maulama Village.

Upon responding to the scene, police found the suspect outside and were informed by family members that he had been fighting with his son, whom he allegedly hacked with a spade. The victim was found inside the house with a deep head wound and was certified dead.

The suspected murder weapon was confiscated. He was reportedly assaulted by the community before police arrival and was hospitalized, and later discharged.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident. She emphasized the ongoing struggle against gender-based violence in the province. She appealed to the community to resolve differences amicably.
