The court heard that on 22 June 2023, Senetla fraudulently submitted liability insurance forms at the SAPS Provincial Joint Operational Center(PROVJOC) at Ladine in the Westenburg policing area, for an event at the Seshego AFM Youth Conference.

However, a senior police officer suspected the forms might be fraudulent and verified with the insurance company, which denied any involvement.

The case was investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Puffy Thomas Maluleke, attached to the Provincial Commercial Crime Investigation Unit. He revealed that the documents were indeed fraudulent.

Senetla was arrested on 04 July 2024 and released on R1000 bail. Despite claiming he received the documents from an unknown person, the evidence led him to plead guilty.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the sentence. She stated that it serves as a deterrent to would-be scammers and that SAPS will not be victimised.
