Over 1534 suspects were arrested for various crimes including sexual offenses, murder, robberies, assaults, and burglaries in Limpopo. The arrests are intensified festive season operations conducted across the Province to ensure the safety of all the citizens and its visitors.

This also includes fraud, shoplifting, possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of suspected stolen properties.

A total of 159 illegal firearms and 06 stolen/hijacked motor vehicles were recovered during these operations. Dangerous weapons, illicit cigarettes, drugs and livestock were also seized.

SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR CRIMES IN LIMPOPO 

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended police members for their dedication to fighting crime. She also thanked community members for continuously assisting the police in this fight.

“As we are fast approaching the Christmas and New Year period which are often characterised by family visits and celebrations, arrests and seizures like these will ensure a safe and crime-free environment for everyone,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.

The arrested suspects have already started appearing in different Magistrate’s courts across the Province. The operations are continuing.
