Two accused, Tshianeo Munyai (30) and Nemakhavhani Ndalamo (22), have appeared in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court for a murder case. The matter is regarding the murder of Mbambadzeni James Manwadu (46), an attorney attached to the Legal Aid, South Africa in Thohoyandou.

It is alleged that on 16 January 2022, Manwadu arrived home late. While getting out of his motor vehicle to open the gate, he was approached by the accused persons, who shot and killed him.

More cases of murder

Munyai is linked to several cases from 2020-2022 including the murder case of Collins Chabane Mayor. The house robbery of Tswinga village, wherein a woman was kidnapped with her vehicle.

The accused and an unknown accomplice also took her car, laptop, and cellphone, and the complainant was instructed to withdraw R10 000.

The second accused Nemakhavhani is also linked to several cases in Thohoyandou of housebreaking. In Zwavhudi animal feeds robbery with aggravating circumstances, wherein he robbed an amount of R36 000, and murder.

He further has a case in Vuwani, where he robbed stokvel money amounting to R30 000. The other case in Waterval was housebreaking with intent to steal and theft.

The matter is adjourned to 24 October 2022, for the accused (Nemakhavhani) to secure a legal representative and they will all remain in custody.

Missing person

Meanwhile, assistance is required from members of the community in locating a 50-year-old man, Rudzani Brian Fambe of Ravele village. He was employed in the Kutama Sinthumule Correctional Service (SACM) Supply Chain Unit.

It is reported that on 30 September 2022, the victim went to Louis Trichardt town and never returned home. The last time he reported for work was on October 4.

Police were notified about the incident and a case of a missing person was opened. A search operation is also underway.
