Two more suspects arrested in connection with murders of Mogalakwena councilors

Two more suspects were on Monday evening arrested for the 2019 double murders of two Mogalakwena councilors. The two Mogalakwena Municipality councilors Valtyn Kekana and Ralph Kanyane were gunned down in Mokopane, Limpopo in July of 2019.

The two suspects, aged 47 and 63, were arrested in Mokopane Monday 06 March 2023, following meticulous investigations conducted by a dedicated team that was assembled soon after the murders were committed on Tuesday 23 July of 2019.
The latest arrests also bring the total number of suspects to seven.
SUSPECTS TO APPEAR IN COURT FOR MURDER OF MOGALAKWENA COUNCILORS
The suspects will appear in Mokopane magistrate court today, Tuesday 07 March 2023.
According to reports, a former Waterberg ANC Regional Secretary and member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature was amongst those arrested.
The suspect can unfortunately only be named after appearing in court and pleading. This is in line with the Criminal Procedure Act of 1977 which prohibits the media of the identity of the accused before they appear in court and plead.

LIMPOPO POLICE COMMEND GOOD WORK
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the team for its relentless efforts and determination in pursuit of any information provided on the matter to make sure that all suspects who played a role in these murders are brought to book.
