Low turnout at Marula Festival Youth Dance movement

The 17th edition of the Marula Festival Youth Dance movement at Impala Park Stadium, Phalaborwa received a low turnout compared to previous years. This is despite the line-up boosting artists such as King Monada, Musa Keys, Master KG, Dj Sammy de Deep, Dj H.tee, C boy & Richie Teanet, PHB finest, Maredi tsa manyalo, Papa Rhulani and Maleboo.

MARULA FESTIVAL YOUTH DANCE MOVEMENT POORLY ATTENDED

Some of the young people at the event blamed the Marula Festival low turnout on the poor marketing of the event. There has also been rumours that some groups around Phalaborwa were calling for people to go to the festival without access tickets. It was also alleged that another festival was being organised to counter the main Marula Festival event.

The eight-day event commenced on the 15th until the 23rd of April in the Mopani District. It was officially opened by the Mayor of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality, Cllr. Merriam Malatji.

The main Marula Festival event will take place on Saturday, 22 April.

Tickets for the main event will be R 200 for the public. There will also be a comedy night and a soul session on Sunday.
