Bail granted for Limpopo Woman who defrauded Nursing Students

The Makhado Magistrates’ Court granted bail to a Limpopo Woman who was arrested for defrauding innocent Nursing Students.
Salome Ngwana who was arrested on 10 March 2023, at O. R Tambo Airport coming from Zimbabwe, was given a R15 000 bail. She was apprehended on 13 counts of fraud.

It is alleged that Salome defrauded students who were enrolling in nursing courses at her colleges. The unregistered colleges were in Botlokwa, Morebeng, and Vhembe districts.
She is also facing 40 counts of fraud in Thohoyandou, and 43 counts in Morebeng Magistrates Court. The monies which were defrauded is more than R2 million.

A police officer testified that she was untraceable for more than six years as she was not staying at her residential address in Makhado, since the cases were opened in 2017.
During the bail hearing, Salome testified that in 2017 she moved out from her homestead in Makhado. She stayed with different relatives as she was struggling financially.
BAIL GRANTED FOR WOMAN WHO DEFRAUDED NURSING STUDENTS
She even moved to Polokwane, Midrand, and Durban. Now she is staying in Fourways where she has a business and 12 employees.
The presiding officer, Benny Smith said that Salome is released on bail with conditions that: she must report every Mondays at Midrand police station between 06:00 and 20:00. Must handover the passport to the state, and inform the Investigating Officer when she wants to leave for business outside of South Africa.
The matter was postponed to 30 June 2023, for further investigations.
