A karate champion, Phuti “Dragon” Sekwadi and a brown belt student at the Limpopo Kyokushin Karate Academy in Polokwane is seeking donations to raise R6,000. This is to represent South Africa at an international karate tournament that will be taking place in Thailand.
Sekwadi’s talent and many recent championships in local and national karate tournaments have also earned him a spot at an international karate tournament. It is organised by the World Kumite Organisation. Sekwadi, from the Capricorn District, will be representing South Africa and competing against other karatekas from across the globe.
KARATE CHAMPION SEEKS DONATION
“Without sufficient funds to register for the tournament, he may not be able to attend this tournament,” says Sensei Molefi Moloto, the dojo head, and senior instructor at the Academy.
“Which will be a missed opportunity for him to showcase his skills. Also to learn from other top-notch karate practitioners from around the world.”
