Following demands of everything that he has ever bought for Gcinile Twala, Themba Selahle affectionately known as Grootman has allegedly leaked his sex tape of his ex-girlfriend.

X/Twitter users expressed their utter disappointment and called for Grootman’s arrest. They believed that he was the one who leaked the tape and claimed that his iCloud was hacked.

Grootman and Gcinile’s relationship has been one of the ones which social media users deemed lavish for the past few years because of the kind of content they shared. They were the epitome of ‘Love Lives Here’ according to netizens; this was because of how they affectionately showed love to each other through their social media posts which included their vacations, shopping sprees, gifts to each other and outings to name a few.

Things went sour when they broke up and Gcinile moved on. Rumoured to be suffering from ADHD, Grootman took to his social media to troll his ex Gcinile. He demanded all the luxury items he’s bought for her. The items he demanded include Gucci sneakers and other clothing and weaves. Some equipment from Gcinile’s salon that he claims to have bought. He also gave her a time frame as to when all the items should be posted to him. 

The leaked sex tape came as a ‘not so shocking’ shock to most social media users. They believe he has a history of abusive behavioural patterns and they are calling for his arrest and for Gcinile to take legal action against him.

Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola and Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Sihle Zikalala officially opened the newly refurbished Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Friday. 

It has been more than 10 years since the Polokwane Magistrate’s court was destroyed by fire in 2012.

The construction of the court started ON 16 October 2019 and was completed on 7 March 2023. The newly refurbished built court premises are state-of-the-art, consisting of 10 courtrooms. There are five Regional courtrooms and four District courtrooms including the Sexual Offences court. One Equality Court Room, and 18 holding cells.

The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court services the Polokwane, Lebowakgomo, Seshego and Westernburg communities.

Among other attendees was the Executive Mayor of Capricorn district, John Mpe, the MEC of transport and safety Florence Radzilani, and Limpopo MEC of Public Works and Infrastructure Nkakareng Rakgoale.  Minister Lamola expressed his joy following the opening of the court after such a long time.  

“It gives me pleasure to be here to usher in an era of access to justice,” he said. 

“The opening of the court brings light to the Polokwane citizens that even during dark periods, they will find refuge in the justice system and access thereof will enable them to restore their dignity and to exercise their rights.

“Access to justice is a cornerstone of any democracy. It’s important for peace and stability to thrive.”

“Reflecting the principle that law and legal processes are not just mere instruments of the state but pivotal tools of the people to exercise their rights.”

Swift action has been taken by law enforcement agencies after 13 taxis were damaged and some taxi drivers seriously wounded following violence between members affiliated to two taxi associations at Ga-Masemola, Apel Cross. The incident has resulted in 13 taxis being damaged and some taxi drivers seriously wounded. 

One group allegedly attacked the other with stones, damaging 13 taxis. The members of the other group retaliated, threw stones back, and left three people seriously injured.

Eight suspects aged between 30 and 63 have been apprehended in connection with the incident on Thursday. The incident took place on Monday, 06 May along the R579.

The Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe vehemently condemned the incident. She also extended her gratitude to the dedicated officers involved in these operations. Hadebe also urged the public to continue cooperating with the police to prevent further escalation of violence.

“We will spare no effort in bringing those responsible for instigating chaos to justice,” added Lieutenant General Hadebe.

Five suspects were charged with malicious damage to property and three with assault GBH. All suspects will appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 10 May.

Limpopo Police have arrested two suspects aged 34 and 40 for dealing in drugs at Polokwane and Matlala on Wednesday at around 17:00.

A 40-year-old suspect was arrested at Polokwane, Indian Center for possession and dealing of drugs and Contravention of the immigration act. The members were patrolling when they spotted a suspicious male being surrounded by a group of people. Upon approaching, they found him selling drugs.

The Police identified themselves and searched him. He was found in possession of drugs [nyaope, rock, and crystal meth]. It was an estimated street value of R 5000 (five and an undisclosed amount of money. He also failed to produce documents for being in the country.

In another incident male suspect aged 34 was also nabbed for possession and dealing in drugs by members who were on patrol duties at Tibane Complex in Matlala policing area. The suspect was in possession of drugs [nyaope] with an estimated street value of  R1000.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrests. She applauded the Police for hitting hard on drug dealers in the Province. The suspects will appear before the Polokwane and Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon.

Maruleng Local Municipality Mayor Tsheko Musolwa and the management of Sampada Private Equity on Wednesday conducted the sod-turning ceremony for the R200 million Oaks shopping centre. Construction of the shopping centre is set to begin as early as next week. 

The Oaks shopping centre will be built at The Oaks Village, situated approximately 36 kilometres from Hoedspruit.

The property developers responsible for the construction of the shopping centre, Sampada Private Equity say the project aims to enhance convenience and accessibility for local residents. To also foster economic growth within the community

Mayor Musolwa added that the new shopping centre will help create more jobs for local residents. The centre will also help residents not to travel long distances to access essential goods and services. 


“Now when we stand here, it proves that things are coming together,” Mayor Musolwa told residents in attendance. 

“As the government, we stand hand in hand with Sampada Private Equity. They did explain that the money that is going to be used to build this Mall is over R200 million. They also explained that this Mall was supposed to be 5500 square metres when they started. It has now increased it to 10,000 square metres. 

“That just means that if it was a two-room house, it is now going to be a four-roomed house,” he explained to the residents gathered at the ceremony.

“They have also mentioned that they are bringing companies such as Shoprite, Ackermans and others. So that means in these shops there will be those that come to clean, to sell and to guard.

“This means that as a community, we are reducing unemployment. So it means if we hire 200 people it means more than 1 000 people will be assisted. This investment is for you people of Oaks, you must take care of it.”

SA President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday officially unveiled a new purpose-built Department of Home Affairs office in Mokopane, Limpopo. This purpose-built office offers all services of the Home Affairs department and it will be convenient for residents of Mokopane and surrounding areas.

Alongside him, among others, was the minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha, Kgoshigadi Lekalakala and the Minister of the presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni.

The president regarded the launch of the office as a great initiative. “It is not often that a department launches a massive intervention that brings the government closer to the people,” he said. 

The department also unveiled 100 new mobile offices that will broaden the reach of their services, especially in the rural areas where their footprint is limited. This program is called ‘Home Affairs on Wheels’ and is set to expand accessibility to the department’s services for  Mokopane residents.

Having records of everyone and everything in the country, President Ramaphosa refers to Home Affairs as one of the most important departments in the country.

From the 100 mobile offices the department got, President Ramaphosa stated that Limpopo will receive 14 and others will also be distributed across other provinces.

“This program of the Home Affairs is one of the best in the continent as it enables easy access to their services to citizens,” he said.

“I have to congratulate the minister, the director general, the deputy director general and all the officials for coming up with this important initiative.


“In the rural areas, residents had to travel long distances and spent lots of money to access services of the aforementioned department, but the launch of the ‘Home Affairs on Wheels’ program and kiosks alleviate that and improve accessibility thereof.”

The president applauded these programs for being cutting-edge developmental initiatives that will simplify the lives of South Africans and urged that officials improve their customer service.

According to the president, the Home Affairs department has ongoing plans to open offices opposite maternity wards in most hospitals across the country. This is to also afford new mothers easy access to obtaining children’s birth certificates.

A miniature substation [mini-sub] that has caught fire has led to a power outage in some parts of the Polokwane central business district [CBD], Limpopo. The Polokwane Municipality fire and rescue services team are reportedly working at the corner of Grobler and Landros Mare Streets to manage the situation.

Although the fire has been put out, the municipal electrical team is assessing the extent of the damage and estimating how long it would take to repair the mini-sub and restore the power supply.

“The municipality advises the affected businesses and other users to regard all electrical wiring as live for the duration of the outage,” they said. 


Furthermore, in the interest of safety, they have also been urged to switch off all electrical appliances until the power supply is fully restored to avoid electrocution and damage.

Motorists have also been pleaded with to treat the affected traffic lights as stop signs until they manage to get the power supply back up and running 

“The Polokwane municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused by this outage. Affected parties are also urged to cooperate with the electrical team as they are working on fixing the issue and getting everything back to normal.”


Meanwhile, the Municipality has also warned of a scam by individuals soliciting financial assistance claiming to be Polokwane Municipality’s Manager Thuso Nemugumoni.

“It has come to the attention of the municipality that unsuspecting individuals are receiving fraudulent WhatsApp messages from a scammer utilizing the phone number 073 499 4153 falsely claiming to be Polokwane Municipality’s Manager, Ms Thuso Nemugumoni and deceitfully soliciting financial assistance. This number does not belong to the Municipal Manager. She has not sent any WhatsApp messages to seek or solicit financial support from anyone.

“It is strongly advised for all to exercise when approached for similar acts. The municipality urges all residents to remain alert to scams and report such suspicious activities to the police and relevant authorities. The matter will be reported to law enforcement to investigate,” said the municipality. 

Industry colleagues and South Africans at large continue to send condolences to the late actor Mpho Sebeng. Sebeng met his untimely death after being involved in a tragic car accident in Krugersdorp, Gauteng on Sunday. He was born in Soweto and passed on at age 31.

He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2017 for his role as Simon in ‘The Jakes are missing’, and for Best Actor in 2018 at the Golden Horn Awards for the role of ‘Neo’ in Ring of Lies.


After many years of experiencing water problems, Phukucane residents in Sekhukhune have finally received a newly drilled water borehole. Sekhukhune District executive Mayor Minah Bahula on Wednesday handed over yet another borehole to local communities in Phukucane, Dennilton.

This is in an effort to mitigate water scarcity issues faced by some communities of the municipality.

The executive mayor initiated this borehole project as one of the measures to reduce the water crisis in the area. The project was completed within a three-week time frame. The developmental is one of many measures the district municipality has in place to address the non-ending water problems.

The Executive Mayor, Bahula urged communities to protect water borehole properties around the district, from theft and vandalism .

“The installation of the borehole represents just one of the many interim measures being introduced by the district Municipality under the Executive Mayor’s leadership to tackle the pressing water challenges faced by residents,” the Municipality said.

Communities such as Phucukane, Malaeneng, Taereng, and 5 Morgan are set to benefit from developmental initiative.

Meanwhile, Mayor Minah Bahula recently spearheaded a heartwarming blanket drive program in Diphagane Village, Ward 24, in the Makhuduthamaga Municipality.

The primary aim of the blanket drive program was to extend warmth and comfort to the less fortunate and vulnerable families during the harsh winter months.

This program, a special initiative from the Executive Mayor’s office, showcased the government’s commitment to supporting those in need within communities.

Hundreds of families, including elderly citizens and senior citizens, were beneficiaries of this noble endeavour.

“As we witness the collective impact of such initiatives, it becomes evident that our strength lies in our ability to uplift and support one another, especially during challenging times,” said the Mayor.
