Five people, who were part of the group that was killed in a shootout with Police in Limpopo on Friday, appeared in court on Monday. The five were arrested at a safe house in Thohoyandou on Friday,1 September 2023.
They appeared before the Vuwani Magistrate’s court on Monday.

LIMPOPO SHOOTOUT GROUP MAKE COURT APPEARANCE
They were facing charges such as possession of a suspected stolen vehicle,
theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, and fraud. It is alleged that while the police were busy exchanging fire with the suspects in Makhado, another group of the police team proceeded to the safe house in Thohoyandou. This is where the five suspects were arrested.
Police discovered one suspected stolen vehicle and another vehicle with an ambulance branding. The ambulance-looking vehicle was going to be used to transport money after the heist from Limpopo to Gauteng.
Their matter was postponed to 3 October 2023 for further investigation.
