The party has been faced with a long outstanding matter of the Mayorships of Vhembe and Makhado since the last local government elections of 2021. Shadrack Maluleke has also been interim Mayor at Collins Chabane Municipality since the passing of Moses Maluleke.
There has also been a dispute over the appointment of Sekhukhune District mayor Maleke Mokganyetji which led to the ANC Limpopo PEC instructing the region to properly elect a Mayor. The PEC has now announced candidates for the positions of Mayors in the affected municipalities.
