Police in Westenburg, Polokwane have launched a manhunt for an unknown suspect responsible for the murder of an unknown man person on Monday, 9 October 2023.

It is reported that the Police received information regarding the body of an unknown male person in the morning at about 06:00.This gruesome incident took place at the new development site along Ben Harris road between Westenburg and the Place of Safety Shelter.

On arrival at the scene, the Police found a lifeless half-burned body with stabbed wounds on the upper body. The motive behind this horrific incident is unknown and circumstances surrounding this are also being investigated.


The Police appeal to anyone who can assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect. Also in identifying the deceased to come forward. This can be done by contacting the Investigating Officer Sergeant Braidon Pheme at 067 093 9828. Alternatively report to the nearest Police Station. Crime Stop at 08600 10111 and can also share it anonymously on MySAPSApp.

Police in Limpopo have discovered unlicensed firearms and ammunition underground at a farm in Westenburg, Limpopo.

It is alleged that the farm workers at Mooiklip farm in Soetdorings outside Polokwane discovered six boxes containing 7560 of R1 rifle ammunition and 1x rifle grenade underground while ploughing potatoes.

The farmer who is currently using the field has leased it from the owner for producing crops for a certain period.

The Police sought intervention from the Bomb Disposal Unit to defuse the ammunition and the grenade. The said ammunition and a grenade will be sent to the Firearm Ballistics Unit for Forensic investigations.

The Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist us to locate the origin of the ammunition and the apprehension of the suspects responsible for these activities to the Station Commander Lt Col Pilusa on 082 728 9825.

Four suspects aged between 20 and 34 linked to about 20 cases of housebreaking and theft that occurred at Tweefontein, Soordoring farms in Westenburg, Limpopo have been arrested. The suspects were apprehended on Thursday, 4 May outside Polokwane.

The farming community in Limpopo had been experiencing incidents of breaking in and theft where suspects appeared to have been elusive.


The reports of the alleged suspects who had been engaged in Incidents of breaking within farming communities, in and around Polokwane along N1 to Makhado became a matter of serious concern to the Farming Community.

The team consisting of Crime Intelligence, Tracking unit, Murder and Robbery was established. This was also with a view to investigating these cases and their hard work paid off. This is when the teams subsequently arrested the four suspects.

The following were recovered during the arrest: 4 x amplifiers, 2x laptops, 5 x generators. 3 speakers, 2 x grass cutters, 3 x Angle grinders. 2 x jigsaw, 1 x plasma tv, 1x bank card 1x blanket and also Cables.

The suspects will soon appear before Polokwane Magistrate Court soon. They are facing charges of Possession of suspected stolen goods, Housebreaking, Theft, Illegal immigrants and amongst other cases.
